A READER REPORTS THAT AHMED DEEDAT DOES NOT EVEN KNOW ARABIC. It was interesting to read your book, " Allah Divine or Demonic", with all the information about Islam and Muhammad. I'd like to make a few comments; 1. In the section on the Qura'n you stated: "I assume that Ahmed Deedat knows the Koran pretty well, so, I suspect the erroneous citations are done by design to confuse." Deedat doesn't know the Qura'n very well, as he doesn't know Arabic and is dependent on the English and interpretations of others. His citations as you say are designed to push his case, and he is terrible as an apologist. His debate with Josh McDowell shows that. He just likes to make a big noise. It covers up the lack of any real content. It is a pity to see so many Muslims with his tapes and booklets and quoting him when there is really just a lot of smoke and mirrors. 2. You also in this section, quoted Sura 6:92, "And this is the blessed Scripture (Koran) which we have revealed, confirming that which (was revealed) before it, (the Torah and Gospel), that thou mayest warn the Mother of Villages (Mecca) and those around her...." Islam teaches that the Scripture which was revealed before the Qura'n, was changed by the Jews and the Christians, despite the verse in the Qura'n that says that the word of God cannot be changed. Sura 6:115. The Word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: none can change His Words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all. The conclusion in all this is that the Scripture that was previously revealed is TRUE.
a. Because the word of God cannot be changed and Sura 6:92. If the scripture is wrong then the Qura'n has not done its job properly. I know Muslims who have begun reading scripture, and as a result have come to the truth, because of what the Qura'n has told them about the scripture. 3. You also stated in regards to the scripture that, "The Bible is preserved by God in many languages, and it is not the private property of Arabs, Jews, Americans, or anyone else." This is good statement for all of us to understand and live by. There is one God, and he is the God of the Jew, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and everyone whether they believe the truth about Him, or that he exists, or not. There is one Messiah for the Jew, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and everyone else, whether they know the truth about him or not, and there is one Scripture for the Jew, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and everyone, no matter what truth they have already have or how much they already have. Paul told this to the Athenians on Mars hill. Steve Cook Editor: We need to make it clear that the "truth" of the Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, and anyone outside of Christ Jesus as he is in the Bible, is mongrel "truth," and the follower of that "truth" will answer Jehovah God one day for not following the TRUTH in the Bible, the Word of God. |
Ahmed Deedat drives home the Koranic claim that Jesus will have to account for the zeal of Christians who worship him as God. He points us to the Koran where Mohammed claims that Jesus will judge those who worship Jesus as God. (FOOTNOTE 5: 30 / 33 / 332) Deedat says this is in Suras 119-121 in the Koran, but he got the numbering wrong. I find this is not uncommon by the Mullahs. I assume that Ahmed Deedat knows the Koran pretty well, so, I suspect the erroneous citations are done by design to confuse those who check him out. So, we will help him find the right Sura for the quote.
Quote from A. Yusef Ali translation-- Alphabetical notation is for discussion later-- In this text, Allah is supposed to be asking Jesus if he taught certain things, to which Jesus responds:
Al Koran, Sura 5:Verse 116, And behold! Allah will say: O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, "Worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah?" He (Jesus) will say, [ a ]"Glory to thee! Never could I say what I had no right (to say)... [ b ] (Jesus speaks) Thou knowest what is in my heart though I know not what is in thine..."
Verse 118, (Regarding how God should deal with Christians, Jesus is supposed to have said) [ c ] "If thou dost punish them, they are thy servants: If thou dost forgive them, thou art the exalted in power and wise."
Page 46
There are many contradictions of the Bible by the Koran, but, as we examine the above Koranic quote, we find three potent contradictions of the Bible:
Let us have a more detailed look it the above Koranic text:
[ a ] Jesus never told anyone to worship Mary, nor did the early church do so. It was later that the Roman Catholic Church introduced this blasphemy. But, Jesus DID invite and permit his true followers to worship only Him as God:
The Bible, Matthew 8:2, And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
The Bible, Matthew 9:18, While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
The Bible, Matthew 14:33, Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
The Bible, Matthew 28:9, And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Jesus never rejected worship from His followers because Jesus knew He was God, so Mohammed lied in the Koran, Sura 5:116, when he added words to Jesus mouth which he never could say.
[ b ] Also, Jesus DOES know what is in the heart of God the Father as we see here:
The Bible, Bible, John 10:30, (Jesus said) I and my Father are one.
And in another place:
The Bible, John 17:25, O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee...
The Bible, Matthew 11:27, All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
The Bible, John 10:15, As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
You can see that Jesus knew the Father's heart just as well as the Father knew Jesus' heart. So Mohammed lied when he quoted Jesus as saying he did not know God's heart. Also, Mohammed again added to the Bible when he lied, so he must go to Hell as we saw previously in Revelation 22:18-19.
Page 47
[ c ] Jesus would not teach that God could forgive those who add to, or take away from, his Word, when we read that God had already condemned them in Revelation 22. Mohammed has Jesus saying.....
Al Koran, Sura 5:118 "If thou dost forgive them, thou art the exalted in power and wise."
God will not forgive those who add to, or take away from, his Word. Mohammed then must have added verse 118 out of his fertile imagination, or perhaps he was trying to cover for himself in the future judgment.
We will now compare some texts to see further contradictions between the Bible and the Koran. Remember, the Bible was written long before the Koran, so it is the older standard by which we measure the accuracy of the Koran which arrived over 600 years after the Bible was closed. If you had a copy of Shakespeare which was 100 years old, and you wanted to check it for accuracy, would you go to a bookstore and buy a new copy of Shakespeare? No, you would go to the British Museum and compare your copy to their copy of the original. The bible was being written down as much as 3500 years before Mohammed lived. So, the Bible is the original Word of God, and where the Koran disagrees with the Bible, the Koran falls and is rubbish:
Al Koran, Sura 3:50, Jesus is supposedly speaking to Mohammed: (I have come to you) "to attest (give witness to) the Law which was before me..." So, Mohammed claims that Jesus existed some time AFTER the Torah law of Moses was in existence.
Al Koran, Sura 2:133, Were ye witnesses when Death appeared before Jacob? Behold, he said unto his sons: "What will ye worship after me?" They said: "We shall worship thy God and the God of thy fathers, Of Abraham, Isma'il and Isaac, the one true God..."
Al Koran, Sura 26:192-199, (Speaking of the Koran and revelation given to Mohammed) And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, Which the True Spirit hath brought down upon thy heart, that thou mayest be (one) of the warners, in plain Arabic speech. And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? And if we had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, and he had read it unto them, they would not have believed it.
The message is very clear, revelation is given in Arabic because it cannot be understood in any other language. The Koran is printed in English by the millions with petro-dollars from the United Arab Emirates. Why? If these Sheiks really believed the Koran, they would only print the Koran in Arabic!
The Bible, John 1:1-4, In the beginning (before the creation of the earth) was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word (Jesus Christ) was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (Parenthetic words are mine and not inspired of God.)
The Bible, John 8:54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
I am amused with these vipers, like Ahmed Deedat and the mad Mullah of Calgary, when they use Jesus' name and then suffix it with PBUH, "Praise Be Upon Him." How silly when they must have read the words of Jesus in the above text, for if Jesus did not exist until after the law, "which was before me" in Al Koran, Sura 3:50 above, then Jesus is a raging idiot and liar. NO praise should be given someone who claimed to exist before Abraham in the Bible, that is, if the Koran is correct in quoting Jesus as allegedly telling Mohammed later that he did not exist until after Moses, giver of the law.
These Islamic clerics who attack Jesus and then praise him must think that Christians are a lot of dumb jack asses. Well, the Middle East is well populated by dumb jack asses too, so we dare to laugh at these Mullahs. What kind of fool thinks no one sees through this duplicity? And yet, the oil Emirates have spent vast sums of money sponsoring these very Mullahs to run all over the world playing their stupid tricks. Someone over yonder is brain dead.
In the John 8 text above, the Jews took up stones to stone Jesus as a blasphemer because he claimed to be eternal and preexistent. There is NO way to explain away this saying of Jesus. He believed he was eternal God. In the John 1 text above, the Apostle John was given the words from the Spirit of God to say that Jesus was not only there at the creation of all things, but John said that nothing the Godhead made in the creation was made without Jesus' participation.
Page 48
We see that the whole truth is IN the Person of The Lord Jesus Christ who was from eternity past! Either the Koran or the Bible is lying. You cannot respect them both as Mohammed claimed.
Nowhere in the Bible is death given personality
(above-- Al Koran, Sura 2:133, Were ye witnesses when Death appeared before Jacob?).
It is the consequence of sin. Mohammed got this notion from the Nabataean Christian heretics in the area near Mecca. These heretics had fled from the Roman Catholic church into the Arabian desert where heretics were safe from pursuit. An heretic is not the best friend from whom to learn theology! Also, the the same text
(Al Koran, Sura 2:133, ...."We shall worship thy God and the God of thy fathers, Of Abraham, Isma'il and Isaac, the one true God...")
claims Ishmael was named in the Bible in the heritage covenants and family patriarchs. Nowhere does the Bible name Ishmael in the list of Jewish patriarchs. Ishmael cannot be a Jewish Patriarch and an Arab at the same time. If Ishmael is a patriarch with Isaac, then someone ought to tell the Mullahs and Rabbis so they can rewrite the doctrine and find a foundation for peace finally. I think it is rather funny to see this Mohammed trying to make a Jew of himself via Ishmael.
Bible, II Timothy 3:16-17, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Compare this with the Koranic text we quoted above:
Al Koran, Sura 26:192-199, (Speaking of the Koran and revelation given to Mohammed) And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, Which the True Spirit hath brought down upon thy heart, that thou mayest be (one) of the warners, in plain Arabic speech....
The "scripture" which the Apostle Paul is speaking of, in II Timothy above, is the Old Testament of the Bible. It was written in Hebrew and Aramaic. Paul wrote this text in Greek, and Jesus quoted the Old Testament in Greek and Hebrew during His ministry. Why didn't Jesus and Paul speak in Arabic if it is the only language in which people really understand the truth? I would like to hear an answer from a Mullah to that question-- Why didn't Jesus speak Arabic if it is the language of pure religion? Come on Ahmed, let's hear the answer to that please.
So, the Koran is true, or the Bible is true. You cannot have both of them, for they fiercely disagree with each other. Since the Bible is the older record, and since the Jews present knew very well what Jesus meant by what he said, we conclude that Mohammed must have been listening to his one eyed Dajjal whom Mohammed said, in the Hadith, tormented him daily.
We see that the Koran arrogantly contradicts the Bible, it adds to the Bible, and it claims that the Bible cannot be understood. Dear reader, especially my Muslim friend, you must decide. You cannot have both the Koran and the Bible. The Mullahs are hypocrites when they quote the Bible to try to prove the Koran is true. They should abandon the Bible if they really believe the Koran. The fact that they study the Bible and pick out bits and pieces of it to use to their advantage shows that these Mullahs really don't agree with the Koran and Mohammed, for Mohammed rejected the authority of the Bible. The Mullahs quote is constantly now days. Why should you believe these Mullahs when they claim the Bible validates Islam and the Prophet Mohammed? If you are going to take part of the Bible, you are a gross hypocrite if you reject other parts of the Bible.
You Christian "missionaries" who claim God leads you to start with the Koran and go to the Bible, when you give the Gospel, you are nothing but blasphemers. You should go back and read the warning again in Revelation 22:18-19. So, you found the names of Jesus and Mary in the Koran? So what? You can find a penny in a mud puddle too, but that doesn't mean that the mud puddle is a bank!
We again examine the scriptures of Islam with the Bible of Christians. How does Islam compare to Bible Christianity in its zeal for study of the scriptures?

Al Hadis, Bk. 1, Sec 3, Chap. 4, no. 55 and 57, Ibn Abbas reported that the messenger of Allah Said: "Whoever so interprets the Quran according to his opinion, let him seek his abode in the fire (hell). And in a narration: 'Whoso interprets the Quran without knowledge, let him seek his abode in the fire (hell)" Attested by Tirmizi
SIDE NOTE ON THE HADITH: Every Hadith has a person near the Prophet Mohammed who Reported the saying of Mohammed, and it is followed by someone near the Prophet who Attested the saying. For this reason, Islamic scholars believe that the Hadith are at least as reliable as the Koran, possibly more so. The Koran has no one who claims to have heard the Prophet say the Suras, and no one Attests the Suras. This is highly significant since Mohammed was illiterate. Also, Mohammed added to and changed many Suras as time passed. The Hadith were never changed. If Mohammed wanted a Hadith to alter a former one, a new one was issued. Both the original and the new Hadith were then in effect at the same time. This makes the Hadith very reliable since editing was not done on the Hadith. Link

Same text, No. 57, Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah said: "Dispute about the Quran is infidelity" Attested by Ahmed, Abu Daud.
It is very clear, from the above Hadith, that a Muslim must never try to interpret the Koran. He must read, recite, and chant it as part of his duty to Allah. (FOOTNOTE 6: 57 / 61 / 1700 The word Koran means "recitation", not, understanding or knowledge or Word, as in the Bible!) The Muslim dare not think too deeply about what he read in the Koran, and he dare not form a strong opinion as to the teaching in the Koran. Why? If he ends up unconsciously disagreeing with Allah on some meaning, or if he finds himself at odds with some Mullah, he is damned to Hell forever. This is why Islam has no deep feeling for the Koran's moral teaching. The Hadith are the source of deeper applications of truth in the daily life.
This is also why you never heard of a "Koran Study" like Christians have a "Bible Study." Ironically, while this teaching, not to interpret the Koran, is usually obeyed, in North Africa you can buy Korans with special numberings in the margins which are used for divination, or fortune telling. These are called "fal," in which they "cut the Koran," by flopping it open randomly, to tell the future. The content of the Koran is ignored, and the numbers in the margin are used in divination. (FOOTNOTE 7: 226 / 224 / 164) This is not called a sin by the Imams, though it is clearly a manner of interpreting of the Koran by superstitious prophetic tricks!

Al Hadis, Book 3, Chap. 36, No. 61- Abu Harairah reported the Messenger of Allah said: 'He who does not chant the Koran (vain repetition) is not of us.' Attested by Bukhari.
Chanting is not meant to sink into the intellect and produce reasoning and action. Chanting is pure ritual, and it causes no change in the chanter.
Bible, II Timothy 2:15 2, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
We see that the Bible encourages or commands study of its truths. This is where the Koran falls down every time. In the 1930's Samuel Zwemmer told of going to the Mosque of Omar (Dome of the Rock) in Jerusalem to visit. The Sheik in charge found out Samuel Zwemmer could speak fluent Arabic, so he invited him into his office in the mosque. Samuel asked the Sheik if he had a copy of the Bible, and the Sheik pulled a Bible out of a niche in the wall. The two men sat for several hours and studied the Bible. The Sheik could not do this with the Koran at peril of Hell fire. But, in the second most sacred shrine of Islam, the Light of the world was shining into his heart and mind during a "Bible study." (FOOTNOTE 8: 217 / 257 / 697)
Page 50
Bible, Isaiah 1:18, Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
The God of the Bible invites you to reason. You are told you will be guided into truth by the Spirit of God. The Bible is not so vulnerable that a man who reads it and misinterprets it will do the Bible any damage. He may miss the truth, he may miss a blessing, but the Bible is safe. This is not so with the Koran which is very vulnerable to damage by anything but reading it. In fact, when a Muslim makes an error in simply reading the Koran, he may close it and stop reading in terror of the wrath of Allah. When he makes a verbal error in prayer at the mosque, he will rise at once and flee from the mosque. Allah is a fanatic about typos and pronunciation, but Allah discourages interpreting the Koran and reasoning from it.
So, we learn three important things about the Koran and the Bible:
1. The Bible is not confirmed by the Koran. Rather; the two disagree many, many times. I have only given a few examples. We also see that Mohammed disagreed with the Bible in his Hadith or sayings.
2. The Koran is open to your mouth to recite it, but it is closed to your reasoning mind lest you should interpret it incorrectly and go to Hell.
3. The Bible is preserved by God in many languages, and it is not the private property of Arabs, Jews, Americans, or anyone else. Read it, think about it, decide what God is saying to you in the Bible, and feel free to disagree with me. The Bible is quite safe in spite of us.
But, the Bible demands more submission than the Koran! Why? Answer: A man is far more responsible for what is in his mind than what rolls around his tongue without understanding. You may take a juicy bite of roast lamb into your mouth, roll it around your mouth, and then spit it out, but you are not committed to it until you swallow, right?
Recently, I saw a plant which I thought was horse radish. This is used in the USA to make a very hot and tasty sauce. I took a leaf and put it into my mouth. I chewed it a bit, and I tasted it. It tasted like horse radish, but I was not sure of myself. I did not trust the plant to be real horse radish. So, I spit it out in fear that it could be counterfeit and poisonous. If I had trusted the thing to be real horse radish, I would have swallowed it. Thus, Mohammed feared that if his followers thought too much about his book, the Koran, and if they meditated on it and reasoned too much about the Koran, they would find it was poison. The Bible is the genuine Word of God, and Jehovah God has no fear that you may swallow too much and find him to be a liar.
If ignorance is safe, then the Koran is safe, but beware-- ignorance will damn you. If the truth must be based in reason and understanding, then you must turn to the Bible to find the truth.
Listen:
Bible, Proverbs 29:18 and 20, Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him. Solomon wrote this text 1600 years before the Koran was written. "Vision" comes from the Bible.
David said in the
Bible, Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
David gave deep thought to the Word of God, not just recitation.
Page 51
Remember, according to the Bible, mere recitations of the Koran give no hope. Dear Muslim friend, get yourself a Bible, then bow your head before God, and ask him for vision to see and understand the truth. He will give it to you as you read the Bible.
Bible, Isaiah 1:18, Come now, and let us reason together....
